At the GAIN Summit 2024, held from September 10 to 12 at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh, reState Foundation contributed to global discussions on the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), governance, and societal transformation. The summit, organized by the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), convened over 450 speakers from 100 countries, facilitating dialogues on the future of AI and its implications for humanity.
reState Foundation’s participation underscored its commitment to exploring how AI can be harnessed to foster inclusive, transparent, and participatory governance models. Engaging with international leaders, experts, and innovators, reState emphasized the importance of integrating ethical frameworks and robust governance structures in the development and deployment of AI technologies. This aligns with the summit’s overarching goal of ensuring that AI innovation serves the greater good of humanity.

At the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) held from October 2–4, 2023, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, reState Foundation played a central role in shaping the event’s vision, content, and global relevance. As a strategic programming partner, reState developed the full concept, narrative, and structure of the conference, curating 7 keynote sessions, 6 plenary sessions, 18 panels, and 5 interactive conversation-style sessions. The Foundation also provided high-level consulting on emerging global trends across technology, AI, culture, and the future of society – ensuring that the WCCE reflected timely and forward-looking conversations in the creative economy space.
Beyond programming, reState managed the invitation and coordination of leading international speakers, including Rebeca Grynspan (Secretary-General, UNCTAD), Sylvie Forbin (Deputy Director General, WIPO), Sandiaga S. Uno (Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Indonesia), Mashael Al Yahya (Creative Director, Misk Art Institute), John Newbigin, OBE (Chair, Global Creative Economy Council), Toto Bergamo Rossi (Director, Venetian Heritage), Nora Aldabal (Executive Director, Royal Commission for AlUla), and Carlo Ratti (Curator, 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale), among others.
Additionally, reState produced the Atlas of Creative Industries of Uzbekistan, a foundational resource mapping the country’s creative assets to support future policy and investment. Through this contribution, reState helped to deepen global dialogue at the intersection of creativity, governance, and innovation.

reState Foundation co-organized the Policy Workshop on Prosocial Tech Design Governance at the European University Institute for Transnational Governance, in partnership with the Global PeaceTech Hub, the Council on Technology and Social Cohesion, and the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP) at the Geneva Graduate Institute. The workshop explored the emerging field of prosocial tech design governance – an approach to building digital platforms that embed ethical principles and social values into their very architecture. Rather than simply minimizing harm, prosocial tech design seeks to generate positive societal outcomes by rethinking platform incentives, governance structures, and human-centered interaction models.

The workshop Policy Workshop on Prosocial Tech Design Governance that reState co-organized brought together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners from across regions to analyze how prosocial governance is evolving globally and to underscore the importance of human-to-human design in shaping the digital systems of the future. In the evening, reState hosted a Conscious Leadership dinner for participants, offering a space to reflect on governance not just as a set of structures, but as a lived expression of values, awareness, and empathy. The evening highlighted reState’s core vision: that the future of governance must be co-created by conscious leaders committed to impact, inclusion, and transformation at every level of society. Held on World Mental Health Day, the event also highlighted the mental health challenges faced by policymakers and community leaders – underscoring the urgent need for conscious leadership and redesigned leadership development programs.

At Creativity Revival 2024, hosted by the Moleskine Foundation, reState took part in a dynamic gathering of 100 creative changemakers – including artists, activists, educators, and cultural leaders – focused on the power of creativity to shape social and environmental transformation. Held as a space for reflection, collaboration, and visioning, the event explored how imagination, culture, and creative practice can be mobilized to address systemic challenges. reState’s participation aligned with its broader mission to reimagine governance by engaging with the cultural and creative forces that help shape more inclusive and regenerative futures.

At the Horasis Global Meeting in Vitória, Brazil, reState Foundation participated in the session titled From Geopolitics of the UN to Technopolitics of the Network, a thought-provoking dialogue on the future of governance in a rapidly evolving technological world. The panel, which featured Anastasia Kalinina, Co-Founder and CEO of reState Foundation, alongside experts such as Sheraz Ahmed (STORM Partners), Anne Chang (Vella Pugliese Buosi e Guidoni Advogados), Jean Hansen (Ipê City), Alessandra Martins (Machado Meyer Advogados), Beatriz Nóbrega (Instituto Viva Cidades), and Rodrigo Quercia (Ekata), was chaired by Hugo Mathecowitsch (Tools for the Commons). The discussion explored how legacy governance systems – shaped by nation-states and analog power structures – are increasingly inadequate in governing 21st-century public goods. The conversation examined emerging governance models powered by blockchain, network societies, and the unbundling and re-bundling of institutions, asking what new forms of cities, countries, and sovereignties could emerge in the digital era

At the forum, reState led discussions exploring the intersection of governance, creative economies, and policy innovation, emphasizing how cultural industries can drive systemic transformation. For reState, the creative industries are a vital sector – not only as engines of economic development but as powerful vehicles for civic engagement, identity, and regenerative governance. The forum provided a unique platform to connect with artists, policymakers, and innovators, and to demonstrate how creative strategies can contribute to future-ready public policy, and holistic, inclusive development.

At the World System Forum, reState Foundation took an active role – particularly in the Future of Democracy segment – bringing its forward-thinking vision to conversations about how democratic systems must evolve in the digital age. reState Foundation took part in Diriya Biennale 2025, organized by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation in Saudi Arabia. The event showcased a combination of historic and contemporary Islamic art, spanning five exhibition halls and outdoor pavilions, and featured over 500 artworks, site‑specific installations, and public programs exploring faith, culture, and creativity. Through its presence, reState participated in discussions on the intersection of cultural heritage and systems transformation, contributing to conversations about how art and storytelling can inform new governance paradigms and inclusive societal futures. reState representatives engaged with artists, curators, and fellow participants, highlighting the role of cultural infrastructure in shaping collective narratives and community agency.
